Scenes from Quarter Pounders from Heaven
(last updated 6/28/98)

I don't actually know if anybody is reading this, but if you are, I thought you might actually want to see some of the sights and people described in "Quarter Pounders from Heaven, or Will Hike for Food" - the absolutely true stories of outdoor adventures with my friends. I'll get the legal mumbo-jumbo out of the way first - unless otherwise noted, all pictures were taken by myself or another member of our group. All are copyright (C) 1998 by Dan Rowley or the individual photographer, and may not be reproduced in whole or in part without my prior written permission. I'll be updating this page more-or-less in lockstep with the stories. When I have more time, I'll try to put some of the images right in with the stories. If you have any comments, email me.

I don't photograph well. Anybody who has tried to take a picture of me will attest to the fact that I tend to avoid getting caught in the lens, and when I do my facial expression invariably gives away my displeasure. One can almost imagine that if you broadened the frame a bit, you'd see the person just out-of-frame holding me in place. So, you will find few pictures of me here. I'll get one of them out of the way right now. Here is the obligatory "before" shot which was taken just before we descended into the Grand Canyon:

Here's a shot of "the whole gang" - as we unwound at the Indian Gardens Campground. Todd was taking the picture.

The Gang

The view which met us when we arrived at the South Kaibab Trailhead, right before we descended into the canyon. In case you were wondering, "no," that isn't the bottom you see there in the middle of the frame- it's just a plateu. You can't see the river from here, but it's down there somewhere, in the deeper canyon you can see nearer the top of the frame :
